The object of the architectural study was the design of a new holiday home with a guest house, on a plot outside the settlement of Modi, in Platanias, Chania. The plot has an area of four acres with a large slope. The house is in the center of the plot facing the view, while the guest house is placed next to the house at a slightly higher level, following the slope of the natural ground. While the openings to the view are large, the back of the house are much smaller. The predominant materials are stone, wood, and plaster in earthy shades so that the buildings are integrated into the landscape as much as possible.
