The architectural study is about the completion of the second floor, of a 1950s building, in the center of Chania, as well as the renewal of all the exterior facades. The idea was to create a modern house, with emphasis on the details, using modern materials with soft colors. The main elements of the organization of space, are the wooden partition – storage space between the living room and the rooms, in conjunction with the sliding partition of the kitchen. For the floor of the common areas, is chosen concrete shaded tile, while for the bedrooms, a floor made of natural wood. The same style is incorporated for the design of all the living room, and office furniture, as well as the fixed equipment, using special details made of solid wood on the frames and the doorknobs. Finally, lighting plays an important role in the composition. Thus, special emphasis is given to the lighting details and the selection of the lighting fixtures.
